The Chelsea forward made his debut for England and managed to score his first goal, making up for the time he lost due to an injury setback that forced him to miss two internationals in March this season. On his comeback, he seized the opportunity by scoring his first goal for his national team before being substituted.

Chelsea’s player of the season has shown remarkable consistency, scoring in the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, the Community Shield, the European Super Cup, and now for England. In total, he has netted 29 goals for club and country, highlighting his significant impact and versatility across various competitions.

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer yet to open with Gareth Southgate’s squad

Palmer is only the fifth player to score his first England goal from the penalty spot, along with Tommy Lawton (1938), Alf Ramsey (1951), Allan Clarke (1970), and Ivan Toney (2024).

As England prepares for the tournament, Palmer’s journey serves as an inspiration and reminder of the bright future of English football. It’s encouraging to hear Palmer is coming out of his shell a little. considering he’s still a relatively new member of Gareth Southgate’s squad.
