Chelsea set to sign the teenage prodigy Pedro Lima from Brazil

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, it is speculated that Chelsea will win the race for Lima and capture the brilliant 17-year-old full-back for roughly €15, according to reports.

The Blues seem to have dominated the fight for Pedro Lima’s signature after discussing personal terms with him, although he was also on the radar of the Blues’ main rivals, Arsenal and Liverpool.

After the 17-year-old full-back arrives at Stamford Bridge, they intend to transfer him on loan to their French sister club Strasbourg next term to grow under Patrick Vieira, according to Romano.

Transfer expert Romano on Pedro Lima’s transfer

The West London giants are known for developing and nurturing young talents at Stamford Bridge.

Lima has already established himself with great performances for Sport Recife and Brazil’s junior teams. Despite being promoted to the first squad at the beginning of 2024, the 17-year-old has appeared in 29 games for Sport Recife’s senior team, scoring four goals and providing four assists.

The announcement of Chelsea’s agreement with Lima is a big blow to Real Madrid, which has a history of signing outstanding Brazilian talent. However, with the Blues dominating the race and the move reportedly nearing completion, it looks like the West London club has pulled off a big coup in the transfer market.

Sport Recife defender Pedro Lima likely to join Chelsea

However, this is merely the beginning. Lima is still only 17, and his short-term future will have to remain in Brazil because he cannot travel to Europe just now. When he reaches 18 and is eligible to make the transfer, it appears that he will begin his career on this side of the Atlantic, either with our associate club Strasbourg or on loan to another team.

Lima should be a crucial player for Chelsea one day if he can reach his full potential, and Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City will undoubtedly be sad to have lost out on this genuine prodigy, who appears to be destined for great things.
