Jhon Duran agent reveals Chelsea still interested in signing the striker

Jhon Duran continues to be targeted by Chelsea after his agent Jonathan Herrera revealed the striker’s move won’t be an issue for the club despite the exit of Mauricio Pochettino this week. The Blues attempted to sign the Colombian forward but couldn’t reach an agreement.

However, the club will once again try to sign the youngster and will hope that Villains open up for the negotiations. Villains boss Unai Emery wants to keep the forward, but the club could sell him in order to balance the books.

Duran has barely played this season, starting just three Premier League games last season, and has been a frustrating figure due to a lack of minutes on the pitch. The forward could be open to a move to Chelsea, who will once again look to bring in a new head coach.

Now the club has been handed an impetus to pursue the youngster after his agent Jonathan Herrera revealed that Pochettino’s sacking won’t affect the club’s pursuit of a striker and further told Sun, via Football.London:

“The interest has always been there. The situation with Pochettino shouldn’t affect anything; the club is the one who wants him. Now that the market is opening up, the club is looking at some options, and so are we.”

john Duran agent says Chelsea still want to sign the striker.

Although Chelsea have expressed interest in acquiring a striker in the summer, is Duran the best choice for the team? It makes very little sense to bring in Duran when you currently possess Nicolas Jackson. Opt instead for a striker with experience. Despite his youth, Duran hasn’t played much this season. If he had been a regular player and scored goals, then it would have been reasonable to go after him.

Chelsea will need to choose wisely if they hope to emerge as one of the most formidable teams in front of the net because their current choice is going to backfire severely. It has always happened when we signed a striker without making an assessment. We already have Jackson, so adding another young forward would just make it more challenging for the manager to turn the team into a threat in front of the goal.

He will need a clinical striker but Jackson is far from being one of the best finishers so it will be wise to go for a centre-forward who has an eye for goal from anywhere in the box.
