Chelsea extend Omari Hutchinson deal and set to decide his future at club

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea have triggered the Omari Hutchinson deal until June 2026. The forward has been on the radar of many clubs in the Bundesliga, Premier League, and Eredivisie. Chelsea are set to decide on the forward’s future after he enjoyed an impressive season with Ipswich.

Hutchinson joined Chelsea in 2022 from Arsenal and was sent on loan. Although it took him time to adjust to the new league, once the forward hit his strides, he never looked back and enjoyed a great season.

Omari was an influential player for Mckenna’s side as the 20-year-old scored ten goals and provided six assists in 44 Championship appearances as Ipswich finished just a point behind Champions Leicester, making it back-to-back promotions to the Premier League.

He was a key player for Kieran Mckenna’s side and impressed the club with his performance. Chelsea would want to keep a hold on such an asset and will be aware of his demand in the market, as German side Stuttgart are keen on signing him.

The Blues will have to decide whether to send him on loan or permanently. Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, will be key in deciding his future, given that he was managing Leicester City and would have witnessed his performance for Ipswich.

If Chelsea decides to keep the forward, Hutchinson is set to face competition from the likes of Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke next season. It will all depend on his performance to see if he should be ahead of them in the starting lineup. However, Palmer is guaranteed to start because he is already the most important player at the club.

The Blues are also looking to make revenue and may sell him for the right price given that he is already attracting interest from a few clubs. It will be wise to loan him again or extend his Ipswich loan, where he will be playing in the Premier League next season, and then after the end of the next season, the club should make a decision on his future.
