Armando Broja says he doesn’t imitate former Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka celebration

Chelsea striker Armando Broja did a photoshoot ahead of Euro 2024 as the forward prepare himself for his first-ever major tournament with Albania. Instagram page Rising Ballers shared photos of a Chelsea forward in anAlbanian shirt where he also explained about his celebration.

Broja, who was loaned to Fulham in January in the hope of more minutes didn’t get enough chances and was ultimately returned to Chelsea after the end of the season. The Blues are open to selling Broja in the summer, and the right price would see the forward leave the club.

The forward had an interaction with the media before the event, and in one of those questions, he was asked why the 22-year-old celebration resembled former Blues striker Nicolas Anelka. Broja clarified and claimed he does his Albanian Egale celebration, which many people confuse with Anelka’s celebration.

Speaking to Rising Ballers, the Albanian striker made sure people didn’t confuse his celebration with the former Frenchman forward and said:

‘’When I score, I do the Albanian eagle celebration. A lot of people think I’m doing the Anelka celebration, but I love the country so much that I do it. It’s unique and a really nice celebration.’’

Armando Broja set to play first major tournament for Albania.

Football players occasionally mimic one another’s celebrations, and this is a common occurrence in the game. When Broja gets a goal, he celebrates on his own. It can seem as though he is mimicking Anelka’s celebration, but it doesn’t really matter. In football, celebrations are too little because your performance is what counts in this game.

Football is all about entertainment, and as long as you are performing, you can celebrate however you want. Broja, who has endured a frustrating season with both Chelsea and Fulham, will hope to change his fortunes around when he represents Albania in the tournament. He is still an explosive striker and he will have an opportunity to demonstrate in one of the biggest stages.
