Chelsea slap €40m price tag on out of favour attacker

Chelsea priced out of move for in-demand forward with PSG set to pounce

Chelsea want €40m for out-of-favour striker Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea will try everything to sell Romelu Lukaku permanently next summer window after they loaned him to AS Roma last summer after failing to find a permanent club once again for the Belgium striker.

According to Fichajes, the Blues will demand a €40 million price tag for the striker, who has produced 20 goals in all competitions for the Serie A club this season. It remains to be seen if Roma will be willing to spend that much to acquire his services.

In a recent report, it was revealed that the Blues want to make a swap deal with Napoli involving players plus a cash deal involving Lukaku and Victor Osimhen in the summer window. The Blues are finding ways to get rid of the 30-year-old, who endured a disastrous spell with the Blues, and since then he has been playing on loan.

Chelsea wants to sign a new striker next season, and Lukaku is the least viable option as they hope to bring in Osimhen, who has been the club’s priority signing since last season. Their latest offer for the Nigerian striker could help them sign him.

It is also being confirmed that Napoli are open to that offer, which involves Lukaku, and the Blues will be happy to offload Lukaku permanently this time. This means they won’t profit from his exit and will have to pay more to sign Osimhen.

This won’t seem like a win situation for the Blues, but they don’t have any other option because it’s very difficult to see any club shell out €40 million to sign the striker despite his impressive form this season.

More Chelsea news

Chelsea have failed to sign a permanent club for the Belgian for two seasons, and they cannot let another season go by with him on loan because getting rid of him is the only option, and if Napoli agrees with that player plus a cash deal, then Chelsea should consider it.
