Chelsea have lined up an interview with managerial prospect as the race heats up

Chelsea will interview Enzo Maresca for a managerial position

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are set to interview Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca for the vacated hot seat at Stamford Bridge. The Blues made the decision to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday with mutual consent.

Since the club has been hunting for a manager who will be best suited to Chelsea’s policy and the squad, they have made a shortlist of head coaches who will be in the running to take charge of the West Londoners in the summer.

The likes of Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank, Ruben Amorim, and former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi have been shortlisted by the Blues, and now it appears Maresca has emerged as a strong candidate to become the next Chelsea manager.

However, the Blues will assess their options pretty well before making any decision, as they did with Pochettino. The Argentine has left with decent work and has well-developed this young squad. Now the next manager’s job will be to form a competitive side ready to contend for a trophy next season.
