Chelsea handed priceless geographical advantage over Newcastle in race for 26-year-old to-be-free agent

Chelsea transfer boost after getting geographical advantage over Newcastle

Tosin Adarabioyo has received a more attractive offer from Chelsea than from Newcastle, who are keen on not overpaying him. Tosin’s contract with Fulham expires in the summer, and it seems that he has expressed his desire to go to Newcastle.

Team Talk sources are claiming that location could be a key factor in where the Fulham star might end up. Almost four years have passed since he moved to Fulham from his childhood team, Manchester City, to live in London.

He may see the Blues positively because Chelsea is a short distance from the Cottagers and it has now become his home. In addition to their generous financial offer, the Blues’ offer could be difficult to decline.

Chelsea could certainly win the Tosin transfer battle

Given that the wealthy Blues often pay their players well, it should come as no surprise that so many well-known players want to play for them. Having said that, Chelsea may be able to force them out of their agreement and get the defender for themselves.

Tosin, who is 1.96 metres tall, has been a formidable presence in Fulham’s defence, making a major contribution in both tackling and aerial duels. In an attempt to persuade him to stay, they were prepared to turn down offers from Tottenham in the summer, but it appears it was in vain.

He has been a remarkable asset for Fulham this season, appearing 25 times for them in all competitions and even chipping in with 2 goals. Fulham’s manager was eager to retain the 26-year-old defender but could not convince him to sign an extension.

The star could really solve Chelsea’s defensive issues

With the departure of their legendary defender, Thiago Silva, they would want to sign a quality defender this summer. Although Tosin would be nowhere near the abilities and leadership qualities that Silva had but the Blues still need to fill the vacant spot.

After the sudden departure of their boss Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca is about to be the new Blue boss. During their time together at the Manchester City academy, Adarabioyo was a player for Maresca. Now fast-forwarding a few years, the center-half may very well arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer, becoming the Italian’s first acquisition.
