According to Fabrizio Romano, Dusan Vlahovic is not on Chelsea’s list, and there have been no negotiations or talks have taken place with Juventus so far.
The Blues have apparently been linked with a move for the Serbian striker, but Romano has denied those reports, as the Blues have yet to hold talks with Juventus for his signing.
It has also been stated that the Old Lady are willing to sell him for just £21 million if Chelsea agree to exchange him for Romelu Lukaku, who wants to join Inter Milan. That isn’t a bad idea on paper but for that, the Blues will have to be sold on the idea of having Vlahovic in SW6.
However, despite no interest, Juventus’s bid for the Belgian striker hasn’t changed Chelsea’s stance, and the only club looking to sign the former Fiorentina forward are Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea’s negligible interest in the Serbian striker means PSG now have the edge as they remain the only club who are keen to sign the 23-year-old. After Lionel Messi’s exit as a free agent, they could be looking for more firepower up front.
Vlahovic endured a decent first season at Juventus, scoring only 10 goals in 27 Serie A games for the Old Lady. Meanwhile, the Blues have been busy reinforcing their forward line as they signed Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, although fans feel the addition of a more experienced striker will be viable.
Vlahovic has sufficient experience and has led the line for Juve and Fiorentina – two top clubs in Italy. It is disappointing to learn that we aren’t interested in the Serbian hitman. Hopefully, that changes in the near future.
If not, it is important that we target a player similar to him. One who is into his early or mid-20s with enough experience for a top team. We can’t ensure that a player will succeed here but we can try to sign the safest option that appears on paper. Vlahovic is a safe option given his talent.
We want a striker who is capable of contributing right away and doesn’t take too long to iron out our goal-scoring shortcomings. Jackson had a great breakthrough season with the Yellow Submarine, but there is nothing about him that would convince the entire fanbase until he shows his talent for a giant club like Chelsea.
