Chelsea star ready to reduce his salary to play for Inter Milan

Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku is willing to reduce his wages to play for Inter Milan

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is determined to play for Inter Milan and is ready to reduce his salary to play for the Serie A club.

Lukaku, as per the Evening Standard, earns a £325,000-a-week salary and is ready to halve it as he wants to play for the 2022–23 Champions League runners-up.

Chelsea earlier turned down Inter’s loan bid for the former Manchester United striker as the West Londoners do not want to send the striker on another loan spell.

The 29-year-old even rejected a move to Saudi club Al-Hilal, as he intends to continue in Europe. Meanwhile, the Blues are open to selling the striker and are trying to offload his hefty off their books.

Inter’s city rival AC Milan is also interested in signing the former Everton striker, but no talks have been held.

Other Chelsea players such as Cesar Azpilicueta and Trevoh Chalobah are also linked with a move to the Serie A club, and it is understood the Spanish right-back has agreed on personal terms to join Inter.

Chalobah’s future remains uncertain, given that Levi Colwill’s arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion could hinder his game time at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku seems to have become a liability for us now that he has not contributed enough during his time at Chelsea. Of course, things can take a turn for the good, but Lukaku is the type of player who doesn’t succeed in all systems and tactics.

It would be better to make a permanent move, which will be better for both parties as the Belgian forward has no intention of playing for Chelsea. The Blues should also not keep players who don’t want to represent the club with pride.

More Chelsea News:

It isn’t the ideal scenario that we imagined when he signed for us from Inter Milan in 2021. But such is football. Some gambles pay off but this one certainly didn’t. If he joins Inter, Chelsea fans would wish to see him succeed there.

Moreover, the club needs to free up their books and raise funds if they are to sign quality elsewhere that Mauricio Pochettino appreciates.
