“We don’t know” Mikel Arteta backs Chelsea to excel next season

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta backs Chelsea to break 100 points barrier in the Premier League

Mikel Arteta asserted that Chelsea have excellent, skilled players who might earn 100 points next season as the Blues prepare to face Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Chelsea are now undergoing redevelopment under new owner Todd Boehly, who spent substantial money on signings during the previous two transfer windows. However, little of it has shown on the field this season.

After a dismal run under them, the Blues fired Thomas Tuchel and Frank Lampard. Chelsea are now in 12th place with Lampard losing five games since taking charge.

While Arsenal are in the title race alongside Manchester City, Arteta claimed Chelsea possesses a great set of players and, with their history, can make things work. Of course, given where are now that seems a million miles away.

The Arsenal manager remarked during the news conference held before the match between Chelsea and Arsenal, and his quotes were quoted by journalist Simon Philips on Twitter:

“Next season, they [Chelsea] may get 100 points; we don’t know. With all that exceptional talent, if they make that work, they can do anything because they have the players, the infrastructure, and the history to do it.”

After experiencing a dismal season and with six games remaining, what Arteta stated is genuinely encouraging. Fans and the new Chelsea owners will be hopeful that our next season will be different as well. Hopefully, the Arsenal boss isn’t taking the mickey with his comments.

We have a rich history and currently have outstanding players who undoubtedly have the ability to make a name for themselves if the appropriate manager is chosen to develop them. The onus is now on us to disprove everyone laughing at the club this season.

However, if we want these things to happen, we must support the incoming manager’s strategy and plans in order to help him lay the groundwork. Given that Arteta took Arsenal three seasons to become a title contender, we will undoubtedly require the same amount of time to contend for trophies.
