Chelsea plan to use Hakim Ziyech as ‘bait’ in deal for Serie A forward

Chelsea are planning to use Hakim Ziyech in a swap deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen

As the Blues’ hunt for a seasoned striker continues, Chelsea have intended to use Hakim Ziyech as a makeweight in a bid to acquire Victor Osimhen in a cash-plus-swap deal.

According to The Daily Mirror, (h/t Express), Chelsea may use Ziyech as “bait” in an effort to entice Osimhen to Stamford Bridge as a consequence of Napoli’s interest in the winger.

The Moroccan playmaker is wanted by Napoli, and Chelsea might use him as leverage to get Osimhen, who has been on the Blues’ radar for a very long time.

The 28-year-old has become a marginal figure at Chelsea and was meant to join Paris Saint-Germain in the winter transfer window, but the deal fell through owing to some paperwork complications.

Chelsea are planing to sell Hakim Ziyech next season.

Even though his contract with Chelsea expires in 2025, the 28-year-old has stated that he is considering leaving the team. This season, the former Ajax player has played in 20 games across all competitions.

The Blues need a reliable striker for next season as they continue to struggle in front of goal, having scored just once in their past six games. The Nigerian international, according to them, maybe the answer to their goal-scoring problems.

It would be an excellent signing on the part of the club if we could use Ziyech in a swap deal for Osimhem and sign him for less money. But for that to happen, Napoli would also need to want the Morocco international in their team.

Chelsea are keeping an eye on Osimhen.

The addition of Osimhen will provide the Blues with the required stability up front. The Nigerian, who is only 24 years old and has scored 21 goals in 25 appearances in Serie A, possesses such outstanding expertise at a young age.

Hopefully, he thinks that winning the Serie A title, which he definitely will this season, satisfies the ambitions he held when he joined Gli Azzurri. A new adventure awaits him in the Premier League with Chelsea and hopefully, he is open to it.

Additionally, Ziyech could play more often for Napoli, where he may perhaps emerge after struggling to make an impact at Chelsea. Different players are suited to different leagues and perhaps the former Ajax man finds success in Italy.

Napoli aren’t an easy team to deal with when it comes to signing some of their best players but we did bring in Kalidou Koulibaly from them last season. Hopefully, the line of communication is still active between the two teams.
