Chelsea star’s wife makes controversial Twitter action amidst poor run of form

Wife of Chelsea defender Thiago Silva likes a tweet slamming manager Graham Potter

Belle Silva, the wife of Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, has liked a tweet that slammed the Blues boss Graham Potter and encouraged the club to look for a new manager (Metro).

Potter has been under immense pressure following Chelsea’s defeat to relegation-threatened Southampton at home on Saturday. There were boos aplenty at Stamford Bridge during the half-time and full-time whistle of the game.

It is now only two wins from the last 14 league games for Potter’s men, who are now 10th in the table, 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Silva’s wife has a habit of not holding back when expressing her views on social media. Here’s a tweet which she liked:

Amidst all the pressure from the fans and everyone around, the Telegraph reported that the Chelsea owners are not ready to sack Potter yet. They think the manager deserves one pre-season with the squad before the results start to get judged.

While that is a good point and it is accepted that Potter was appointed after the start of the season, there have to be signs of improvement in the coming weeks to make him deserve a full pre-season with the squad.

Getting top four in the league looks tougher by the minute at the moment, while it would be tough to overturn the score-line in the last-16 tie of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea have not scored in six of the 11 games they have played since the World Cup. Potter not registering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the European squad and then not playing him in the league is a decision that needs questioning. It is clear that the team needs an experienced number nine to score goals, otherwise they won’t.
