Chelsea set to battle Tottenham for 18-year-old Brighton sensation

Chelsea set to battle Tottenham for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson

According to the Sun, Chelsea and Tottenham are reportedly interested in securing the services of Evan Ferguson, the Brighton wonderkid who is taking the Premier League by storm.

The young striker has already made his mark in the English top flight and looks to be a player with a bright future ahead of him. It is no surprise that both Chelsea and Tottenham are keen on signing him.

The Blues are in desperate need of a striker who can score goals on a regular basis, while Spurs are looking for a long-term replacement for Harry Kane. Ferguson could fit the bill for both clubs.

The fact that Ferguson was signed by Graham Potter at Brighton only adds to his appeal for Chelsea. The duo knows the player inside out and would be able to get the best out of him if he were to move to Stamford Bridge.

However, considering the current predicament that the Blues find themselves in, we really don’t know how long Potter is going to last in the managerial hot seat at Stamford Bridge and whether he would be around to see a potential Ferguson arrival.

Ferguson’s performances this season have been outstanding. He became Brighton’s youngest scorer in the Premier League when he netted against Arsenal late in December.

Since then, he has added two more goals and two assists in seven appearances for the Seagulls. These are impressive stats for an 18-year-old playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world.

He has shown that he can handle the pressure of playing at the highest level and has the potential to become one of the best strikers in Europe. However, we must remember that he is far from the finished product.
