Chelsea January signing Andrey Santos denied work permit to play in England

Chelsea were told about the 18-year-old’s situation and also applied for an exceptional talent visa. However, the Blues’ efforts were once again rejected.

The Stamford Bridge side’s coaching staff had been encouraged by Santos’ recent displays for the Brazil U20 team in the U-20 South American Championship 2023. The young Canaries went on to win the tournament, where the 18-year-old captained them.

Considering the midfielder’s performances, the West London club wanted to integrate him into the first team as soon as possible. But now, it is likely that the youngster will be sent out on loan, with Palmeiras being linked.

Todd Behly has made several signings in the last two transfer windows. In the summer of 2022. Carney Chukwuemeka and Denis Zakaria were added to the midfield ranks. Conor Gallagher also returned from his loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Last month, Chelsea acquired the services of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica. The 2022 World Cup winner has been a key player in our recent fixtures.
