Graham Potter provides ambiguous response regarding Joao Felix future at Chelsea

Graham Potter provides a cryptic response about wanting Joao Felix to continue at Chelsea when his loan ends at the end of the season.

Felix joined Chelsea on a loan move from Atletico Madrid, and it appears he could continue at the club beyond the completion of his loan move.

The Portuguese made a cameo in a 2-1 defeat to Fulham before he was shown a straight red card for his reckless tackle, which led to a three-match ban.

On his debut, he also had a slight effect and offered some insight into what he can bring to an offensive line that is lacking in goals.

But the 23-year-old made a mark in his comeback game against West Ham, scoring a goal and making a big impact with his manoeuvres and poise on the ball when outmuscling defenders.

The former Brighton Hove & Albion boss provided (h/t Express.UK), a hazy response when asked if he wanted the 23-year-old to remain at Chelsea even after his loan period is over.

“It’s not something I’ve thought about, to be honest. He is hungry to get back out there, that’s for sure. You can sense that. I wouldn’t want to put pressure on him, but we have him as a top player.

“And then it’s about how the team can function better. He can help and show his quality.”

His relationship with Atletico Madrid’s manager has broken down as the player is reported to be unhappy under him, and it appears that the player is unlikely to return to the Spanish club.

However, his performance up until the conclusion of the season would be crucial in determining whether he is deserving of staying at Chelsea, as his performance in a single game is insufficient to demonstrate whether he could be a part of the team.
