Brazilian legend Juninho heaps praise for Chelsea signing Andrey Santos

Speaking in an interview back in July as quoted by popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brazilian legend Juninho Pernambucano has heaped praise on Chelsea’s latest signing Andrey Santos.

The Blues officially announced the signing of the talented Brazilian midfielder on New Years’ day. He is one of the most talented players coming out of the South American nation and huge things are expected of him.

The Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama midfielder was wanted by many top clubs around the world but the Blues managed to see off all competition to secure a deal for the talented teenage sensation.

Santos had interest from some of Europe’s elite with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Barcelona and Newcastle United all wanting to sign a player.

The Brazilian teenage midfield sensation has received a lot of praise but quotes from Juninho have emerged where the Selecao legend waxed lyrical about the Blues’ latest acquisition.

“I’ve never seen a player, at 18, as ready as he is. Physically, he’s a beast, technically he’s on a high level. He’s not going to be better than me, he’s going to be much better than me”

It means a lot when a player like Juninho praises a teenager and it is evidence of the kind of talent that the Blues have managed to secure. Santos is a huge talent for the present and the future.

Chelsea have landed young midfielder Andrey Santos.

It remains to be seen if Potter has a plan to use Santos in the immediate future. There is a chance that the Blues choose to loan him out and develop him before integrating him into the setup.

The 18-year-old talent must be given time to show his quality. After all, he is just 18 years old and despite what Juninho claims, he will still have a lot of things to develop in his game.
