Chelsea earmark two Serie A marksmen to aid the lack of goals in the team

Transfer News: Chelsea looking at either of Dusan Vlahovic or Tammy Abraham to help solve their striker issue

According to Calciomercato (h/t Football. London), Chelsea are looking at either Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic or AS Roma centre-forward Tammy Abraham to help solve their striker issue for the second half of the season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined the Blues on the deadline day from Barcelona, has struggled in front of goal this season. The 33-year-old has scored three times in 12 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Young striker Armando Broja meanwhile has suffered an ACL injury and is expected to miss out on the rest of the season. This leaves Aubameyang as the only natural striker in the team, making Graham Potter dip in the market again.

It seems as though the Blues have lined up two options to help solve this problem. Vlahovic joined the Old Lady in January earlier this year and has been one of their best players so far this season.

The 22-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals in the process. Given the financial problems the Serie A side is going through, the striker is believed to be available in the market.

Abraham, who joined Roma from the Blues last summer, enjoyed a stellar campaign with them last season. The 25-year-old scored 17 goals in 37 league appearances for Giallorossi and even helped them win the UEFA Conference League last season.

Things have not been the same this season, with the centre-forward struggling for goals. The Blues have a buyback clause that can be triggered in the summer, but it is understood that they want to avoid paying that and instead negotiate a deal with the Italian side.

It is clear that the Blues want to bring in a new striker to help them increase their goal tally. With the January transfer window less than half a month away, it remains to be seen if the west London side does bring in any new striker.
