Report: Chelsea could land major midfield target for just £60m

Chelsea target Jude Bellingham has secret £60 million release clause

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea target Jude Bellingham is said to have a secret £60 million release clause in his contract which would mean clubs can get him for much cheaper than they were initially expecting.

Bellingham is one of the most talented young midfielders in the world today. He is much sought-after with many top European clubs keen on making him their marquee signing for next season.

Bellingham plays his football for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. The German club were expecting huge sums of money for their prized asset but such a curveball would not be welcome news to them.

In fact, Bellingham being available for such a low price might not be something that even Chelsea desires after all with this meaning that many other clubs also compete for the signature of Bellingham.

The teenage sensation had a stand-out World Cup in Qatar and was arguably England’s best player. He had a sensational tournament which only further raised his stocks and made him even more desirable.

If this is indeed true, then it all comes down to which club can convince Bellingham to come join them next season. Let’s see if Chelsea are indeed able to do that but it will not be easy.

The talented midfielder is already a bonafide star for Dortmund and is ready to take the next step in his career. A move to Stamford Bridge would help him achieve just that.

Bellingham has also shown that he is captaincy material, leading Dortmund at such a young age in the absence of Marco Rues and doing a pretty commendable job at that.

It remains to be seen if this new development in the Bellingham story is actually true and if it is, the next question would be where he ends up next season.
