Chelsea ‘offered’ Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard but yet to decide on signing the forward
Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard has been ‘offered’ to Chelsea, but the Blues are yet to decide on whether they want to sign the Belgium international, according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs on Twitter (h/t Express).
Premier League rivals Liverpool have also been informed about the 28-year-old’s availability in the upcoming transfer window. However, the Merseyside outfit have no intention of bidding for the forward for the time being.
The Stamford Bridge side have been linked with Trossard’s signature since former Seagulls boss Graham Potter’s appointment at the West London club. As of now, the club are looking to bolster the front line in January.

The Belgian star’s representatives are pushing for a move away in the upcoming transfer window considering his fine form in recent months. As a result, the 28-year-old’s camp are looking for a high-profile transfer.
Chelsea are still interested in the forward. However, the Blues have other options as well, which are being considered. Thus, a move for the Genk star is not guaranteed.
The Stamford Bridge side added Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to their front line after parting ways with Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku. However, we have still evidently struggled in front of goal.
Chelsea’s leading goalscorer in the current campaign as of now is the former Manchester City star, with five goals in all competitions. In the Premier League, we have a goal difference of zero at this point.
Trossard has found the back of the net seven times in 15 league appearances this season. He also featured for Belgium at the 2022 World Cup. However, Roberto Martinez’s team could not make it past the group stages.

Thus, we evidently need to add reinforcements to the front line. But while the 27-year-old is capable of playing in the number nine position, it remains to be seen whether the Blues will opt to sign him next month.
