“We have beaten them”- Wolves attacker gives two reasons why it is a good time play Chelsea

Daniel Podence believes Chelsea could be the perfect opponent for Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Daniel Podence believes that Chelsea could be the perfect opponent for them. The two sides are set to clash at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.

In an interview quoted in Birmingham Mail, the 26-year-old gave two reasons why it is the perfect time for them to play the Blues this weekend.

“We have been so good against teams like Chelsea, especially against Chelsea, so I think it’s one of the best matches we can play now.

First, because Chelsea is one of the biggest teams – and we are all aware of that – so it will make us be more alert and pay attention to every detail, and the second is the fact that against Chelsea we have beaten them, we’ve drawn against them, so we have been in a good position against them, even at Stamford Bridge, so I think it’s the right match to play now.”

Wolves have only won one of their last 15 Premier League matches and will likely head to west London without a manager. As for their record against Chelsea, there too the club has struggled.

The two sides have met a total of 16 times in the league with the west London side winning 9 and their opponents winning 3. 4 games have ended as a draw, including the last two outings.

Graham Potter will head to the game in a very good mood having beaten AC Milan 3-0 in their Champions League match last time out. The west London club sit fifth on the table with 13 points, while the west Midlands club sit in the 18th position with six points on the table.
