Chelsea face competition from multiple European giants for South American teenager

Transfer News: Chelsea interested in Chilean wonderkid Dario Osorio

Chelsea are said to be interested in Chilean wonderkid Dario Osorio, according to 90min (h/t Birmingham Mail). The 18-year-old is one of South America’s brightest prospects.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be leading the race for the Club Universidad de Chile winger. But they are not alone in their pursuit, with a host of other clubs showing interest in the teenage winger.

Apart from the Wolves and Blues, the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all said to be interested in the 18-year-old.

The winger made 22 appearances in the Primera Division last season, scoring six times. The 18-year-old has also made his debut for Chile international team at such a young age.

He will cost around the region of £5.5 million and this could be a bargain price for a club like Chelsea. The Blues have one of the best academies in the country and also in Europe.

Osorio would benefit immensely should he make a move to the west London club. It can hardly be argued that the Blues will provide better facilities than those he would receive at Wolves.

But the west London club will face tough competition to secure his signature. With top clubs involved in the race for the 18-year-old would indicate the immense quality and potential that the winger has in him.

It remains to be seen if the Blues can secure his signature before everyone else. Fans will hope that their side can get him as he would only add quality to the already existing talented players in the youth system at Chelsea.
