England and Germany played out a very thrilling and entertaining 3-3 draw at Wembley last night. Chelsea players Reece James, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz all shone for their countries.

The visitors went 2-0 up in the second half, courtesy of an Ilkay Gundogan penalty and a superb strike from outside the box by Havertz. But the Three Lions scored two goals in four minutes to equal the score, thanks to goals from Luke Shaw and Mount.

Harry Kane thought he had won the game for his side in the 83rd minute after converting his penalty, but Havertz tapped home when Nick Pope spilled Serge Gnabry’s effort in the 87th minute.

Chelsea players shone for their countries last night. James started the game with Sterling, while Mount came in as a substitute in the 65th minute.

The Cobham graduate along with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka completely changed the game for their country. Sterling had quite a few chances, but the former Manchester City winger failed to convert them, while James was phenomenal in both going forward and defending.

Saka could have won the game for the Three Lions in the dying minute, but his shot was saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen. This draw meant that both the teams won’t qualify for the semi-finals next year and also saw England win their first and only point in this season’s UEFA Nations League.

Elsewhere, Jorginho started the game for Italy last night. Two goals from Giacomo Raspadori and Federico Dimarco saw the Azzurri defeat Hungary 2-0 and finish as leaders of their group. They will play in the semi-finals of the competition next year, though they won’t be travelling for this year’s World Cup in November.
