Former French international namedrops Chelsea’s best player

Bacary Sagna believes Raheem Sterling is the best player at Chelsea

Former Manchester City player Bacary Sagna believes that Raheem Sterling has been the best player for Chelsea so far this season.

Sterling moved to the west London club this summer for £47.5 million. The 27-year-old has already established himself in the team and has been a regular for the club this season.

Now, Sagna, while speaking to Lord Ping (h/t Evening Standard), believes that the former Manchester City and Liverpool winger has been the best player for his new club so far.

“I think he has had a good start to his Chelsea career. It couldn’t have been easy for him with all the changes, but he has been Chelsea’s best player so far in my opinion.”

There is no disputing what Sagna has to say. The England international has been our best player so far and that is without a doubt.

Sterling has scored four goals in eight appearances so far in all competitions. The winger has started in the games for the club and was also involved for his country in both their games in the UEFA Nations League, earlier this week.

Graham Potter, the new Blues manager also seems to trust the former City winger and started him against RB Salzburg in the Champions League in his first game in charge of the club. The game ended 1-1, but the 27-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch and even got on the scoresheet.

The winger will be expected to play a crucial part this season. Chelsea will play nine games next month, in what could be their potential season-deciding month in both the Premier League and Champions League. It is highly likely that the 27-year-old will play in all the games.
