According to journalist Andreas Korssund (h/t Football. London), Chelsea are set to pursue a deal for talented Spanish winger Adama Traore from Wolves with Thomas Tuchel said to be a huge fan of the Spaniard.

Traore is one of the most electric wingers going around in European football. He is extremely quick, and physical and has a very mean cross. It is almost impossible to stop him at full flow as he can beat defenders for fun across the length of the pitch.

The Spaniard, who is contracted to Wolves spent the second half of last season out on loan at boyhood club Barcelona. After a very bright start to life at Camp Nou, the re-emergence of Ousmane Dembele sidelined Traore to a bit-part role as time went on.

Regardless, it was a fairly successful loan spell for the talented winger who now finds himself back at Wolves ahead of next season. He is expected to continue playing in the Premier League for Bruno Lage’s side unless something changes drastically.

That something could be an offer from Chelsea to bring the talented Spaniard to Stamford Bridge with Thomas Tuchel really keen on the 26-year-old. He will add a very different presence to the options we currently have and could be a really useful signing.

One thing that really works in the 26-year-old’s favour is his ability to play in multiple positions. He can play as a traditional right-winger but he is more likely to be of great use to Tuchel as a cover for the right wing-back position for Reece James.

Chelsea could sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

Although the English international is exceptionally talented, he tends to get injured quite a bit and hence rotating him with Traore could bring out the best in both players. It could also make Chelsea’s right flank one of the deadliest in the Premier League if Tuchel decides to use both of them together.

Given that his contract expires in 2023, Wolves are unlikely to demand a huge sum for Traore and could decide to sell him for a bargain price to avoid losing him for free. It’s up to Chelsea to jump on this opportunity and take it up soon.
