Super agent to help Bayern ace on Chelsea’s radar find a new club

Transfer News: Pini Zahavi will help Benjamin Pavard find a new club amid Chelsea interest

According to reliable journalist Christian Falk on Twitter, superagent Pini Zahavi will help the agents of Benjamin Pavard find the defender a new club. This comes amid reports that Chelsea is interested in the player.

Zahavi’s name will be very well known by the Chelsea fans. After all, he was the agent that played a central role in the deal in Roman Abramovich’s acquisition of Chelsea in 2003. He has since had several dealings with the club.

Pavard, who joined Bayern Munich in 2019 from VfB Stuttgart for £31.4 million is tipped to leave the club this summer. Chelsea is said to be an interested party as Thomas Tuchel continues to rebuild his backline. With Zahavi also in the fray, it will not be surprising if Chelsea’s interest grows further.

A right-back, who can also play as a centre-back, Pavard would be an ideal signing for Tuchel. He would most likely be back up to Reece James, who is Tuchel’s preferred starter. The Sun reported earlier that Bayern are seeking £30 million for the World Cup winner.

The 26-year-old made 25 league appearances for the Bavarian club as Bayern lifted their tenth successive league title last season. The Frenchman played a pivotal role in Bayern’s Champions League run of 2020 and has established himself as a regular starter for the German champions.

But with Bayern bringing Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax this summer, his place in the starting eleven is under threat and Chelsea could swoop in on him. Pavard would help in adding depth to the squad and also help in increasing competition. With Cesar Azpilicueta tipped to leave for Barcelona this summer, Pavard could prove to be an excellent alternative for the Chelsea captain.

If the price quoted is true, it could become a stumbling block in the deal. However, it might be negotiable and Chelsea could look to an old friend in Zahavi to help sweeten the deal in their favour. The Blues are also said to be close to completing the signing of Kounde and one would guess that only after that will they plan to move for Pavard, if at all.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea’s interest in the player is serious or not. A solid defender, he would make a fine addition to Tuchel’s backline. Whether or not he plays at Stamford Bridge remains to be seen.
