“Moving quickly” – Leeds United boss drops a hint regarding Chelsea target

Jesse March hints that Chelsea target Raphinha might be on his way out

Speaking in an interview as quoted by @BerenCross via Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via Twitter, Leeds United manager Jesse March seemed to hint that Raphinha could leave the Yorkshire club in recent weeks.

Raphinha is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after wingers in the Premier League with many clubs fighting over the signature of the forward ahead of next season. Chelsea and Barcelona are leading the race for the talented Brazilian with a departure looking imminent.

Yet another impressive winger coming out of the long Brazilian talent belt, Raphinha has easily been one of the best wingers in the Premier League for a couple of seasons. He has developed an all-round game under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa.

Raphinha joined Leeds United from Stade Rennais in 2020. He was exceptional for a struggling Leeds United side last season scoring 11 goals and providing three assists across all competitions in 35 matches as the Yorkshire club struggled to fight relegation.

Chelsea are rebuilding big time ahead of next season. We have had some high-profile departures this window with Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving the club and we are working on bringing in quality players.

Raheem Sterling is expected to be on his way to Chelsea from Manchester City and Raphinha is the other winger we are really keen on signing. He would be a great addition to the Blues and will offer a lot to Thomas Tuchel and the team next season.

Chelsea are showing keen interest in Leeds United star Raphinha.

One thing that Raphinha stands out for is his work rate. Anyone who has seen Raphinha play knows that he is an extremely hard-working player who does not shy away from working for the team. He can track back and help in defence.

If Chelsea do sign Raphinha, he could be a solution to their troubles in front of the goal. The 25-year-old Brazilian has proven to be a more than decent goal scorer during his time with Leeds United and having played in the Premier League, he is unlikely to have adaptation issues either.

It will not be easy to beat off Barcelona in the race for the talented Brazilian and hence Chelsea will have to work hard on convincing Raphinha to come to Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen how they go about it.
