Arsenal set their sight on a shock transfer involving Chelsea star N’Golo Kante
According to the Daily Star, veteran Chelsea player N’Golo Kante has caught the attention of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as they search for a defensive midfielder.
One of the Premier League’s most likeable stars and World Cup winner Kante has been a top performer who has achieved all of the game’s possible victories.
And while he continues to be an important part of Thomas Tuchel’s team, his latest injury problems make him a susceptible player. Chelsea also pays him one of the most significant wage amounts in the team.
He continues to run nonstop, but it’s unclear how long he can keep up the lung-bursting pace, which might be baffling Chelsea to offer Kante, 31, a new contract term. Amid such a situation, Arsenal believes Chelsea would be willing to sell him.
Arsenal are not the only team as Manchester United have also been tracking the situation of the French midfielder at Chelsea.
Kante’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in just one year. However, It is still unknown whether Chelsea will consider any offers for Kante, who is an important member of Thomas Tuchel’s team.
Kante will also be absent from Chelsea’s American tour. If a person is not a citizen of the US, they must be completely immunised in order to enter the country. Due to such a rule, Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are both being forced to stay behind.
Kanté’s career has been hampered by injuries recently, including a month of absence earlier this season owing to another knee problem. The French midfielder’s injury appears to have occurred just as Chelsea’s preseason is about to start, which is concerning.
The 31-year-old’s contract is up in a year, and he just finished playing in one of his worst seasons for Chelsea. If the situation continues, Thomas Tuchel might be compelled to compromise on some of his goals for a post-Kanté midfield.
However, on the other hand, some vital issues have emerged at Chelsea. Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen have left Chelsea, while the futures of César Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, and Jorginho are still up in the air.

In such a situation, Chelsea might not be able to handle losing Kante so soon. It would be wise for the Blues to keep him on staff for at least one season while we find replacements for some of our important departing players.
Of course, his playing time will need to be carefully controlled, and Tuchel would be wise to stack his midfield so the former Leicester City star isn’t overworked with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
