“Show his quality”- Former Chelsea ace topped to stay put at current club amidst return rumours

Carlo Ancelotti confirms that former Chelsea star Eden Hazard will stay at Real Madrid

According to Daily Mail, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Eden Hazard will remain at Real Madrid next season, despite speculation about his future. This would mean that a return to Chelsea appears far from likely.

Since signing Los Blancos for a reported £100 million from Chelsea in the summer of 2019, the Belgium international has struggled. Injuries have hampered the 31-year-old’s career, who has only made 65 appearances for Madrid in all competitions in the past three years.

His troubles in Spain have sparked speculation about his future, with reports linking him with a return to the Premier League. Chelsea were also interested in signing the player and they planned to approach him during the January transfer window. However, he declined since his wife was pregnant and chose to remain at Real Madrid.

Is Hazard no longer a possibility for the Blues?

Chelsea’s dreams have been dashed even further as the Real Madrid manager has denied suspicions of a move for the Belgian. He has stated that the 31-year-old will remain in Madrid and demonstrate his quality.

“Eden Hazard will stay here at Real Madrid next season. Hazard’s plan is very clear, he wants to show his quality next season.”

The former Blues star’s Los Blancos career has been a bit of a roller coaster. Injuries had made it difficult for him to get continuous playing time, which Madrid would not have anticipated when they signed him. Anyone who watched him play would agree that he was at the peak of his playing career at Stamford Bridge before leaving for the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea legend Eden Hazard doesn’t view a return to the Blues as an ‘option’ in January.

It’s frustrating to see our former superstar and someone of his calibre go unnoticed by large. He deserves another chance to prove himself, and he intends to do so by extending his service to Ancelloti. If he stays, he’ll have to compete for game time with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

The supporters would want to see the former Blues superstar back. Similar to Didier Drogba’s return in 2014. However, that appears fanciful at best.

His recent form and injury worries must be considered if he is to be signed, which is getting increasingly difficult. Given the team’s present competition upfront, we just can not promise him regular playing time. Madrid will also not sell him cheaply and a reunion might not be the best move for us.
