Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea Lineup to face LOSC Lille – Lukaku to start

Predicted Chelsea lineup to take on LOSC Lille in the Champions League

The Chelsea vs LOSC Lille match would likely be a one-sided game. However, as the Champions League is known for dramatic comebacks, it would be foolish to rule out any team. The Blues have the edge because of their comfortable 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. But Lille hasn’t lost a single game in their last five league appearances, suggesting the French champions have no intentions to go down without a fight.

Even though Chelsea are operating fine due to the UK Government’s sanctions, the on-field performance remains top-notch. Apart from a penalty shootout loss to Liverpool, the West London team have won their four remaining games after the 1st leg win. So, Thomas Tuchel’s men are expected to put up another awe-inspiring Champions league performance.

Reece James made his return to the field after an injury break recently. But, Thomas Tuchel suggested that the Englishmen has suffered a ‘re-injury’ and the German wouldn’t be risking his main right-back again.

Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta weren’t involved in Chelsea’s win against Newcastle United. However, it is believed to be a precautionary measure, so the duo would be in contention to start against Atletico. Cristian Pulisic was thought to have contracted a mysterious illness, but his involvement in the last match suggests that he is fit and ready to take the field.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Edouard Mendy (GK)

Considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world currently, Edouard Mendy has put in flawless performances after returning from the AFCON tournament.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

Cesar Azpilicueta’s involvement in the right-back role suggests that there is no better central defender than Andreas Christensen to partner up with Antonio Rudiger in the Chelsea backline.

Thiago Silva (CB)

Given Thiago Silva’s experience in Champions League fixtures, he is a reliable defender for such high tension clashes. He got a rest during Chelsea’s last matchday; hence he might be fit and ready to defend the line for the Blues.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

Despite having contract renewal problems with the club, Antonio Rudiger’s on-field performance remains top-notch. Furthermore, the German centre back would be enticed to put up an influencing performance in his 50th UCL appearance.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RWB)

It is rarely seen that Club captain Cesar Azpilicuetahasn’t given his 100% for a task even if it’s out of his comfort zone. The Spaniard also had a rest in Chelsea’s last league fixture; hence he would be thrilled to return to action.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

Kante’s role in stopping Lille’s attacks from the midfield would be crucial for Chelsea. The Frenchman is a top competitor and doesn’t take any challenges lightly.

Mateo Kovacic (CM)

Kovacic forms the core of Thoms Tuchel’s team, partnering with other midfielders. He has put in some incredible performances after his return from injury. The Croatian star’s volley against Liverpool suggests he has the ability to step up whenever needed.

Marcos Alonso (LWB)

Due to Ben Chilwell’s injury, Marcos Alonso is currently the only recognised left-back Thomas Tuchel has. The Spaniard has excellent pace, and he enjoys joining the attack from the flanks.

Hakim Ziyech (RF)

Ziyech returned to action against Newcastle United after a minor injury. His positive body language in the previous clash suggests that the Moroccan is motivated to earn the trust of the Chelsea fans.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku was on the bench for the 1st leg clash against Lille. Despite the lack of goals from ‘Big Rom’, he is still the main striker of Thomas Tuchel’s team.

Christian Pulisic (LF)

Pulisic has put on some influential performances in the last few matches. He came off the bench in Chelsea’s last game against Newcastle. It seems he is earning Thomas Tuchel’s trust gradually.

Chelsea vs LOSC Lille prediction

Given that Chelsea are already two goals ahead, Lille would require a miracle to win the game. But the French team can’t be completely ruled out from the proportion either. So we are going for a 2-0 win for Chelsea. Betway Sports have boosted Chelsea to win to nil from 2/1 to 4/1 in their markets.
