Two crucial first team stars involved in Chelsea training before Arsenal game

Chelsea have been handed positive injury news as Reece James and Axel Disasi were both involved in the Blues’ group training session ahead of the Arsenal game in the Premier League at the weekend.

Disasi was dropped from the France squad due to an injury, while James was recovering from a hamstring injury that he sustained on opening day against Liverpool. However, it appeared the England international wouldn’t be participating in the Arsenal game after a setback, but this isn’t the case and his return is major news for Mauricio Pochettino.

Disasi, who was recruited from AS Monaco following the injury to Wesely Fofana, has appeared in all eight games and transitioned into a key element alongside Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill. Having him back will also boost our chances against a dangerous Arsenal side.

James, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring injury in the opening game of the season against Liverpool and hasn’t featured since yet, but there is a slight chance he could play against the Gunners. Considering he just returned from an injury, the Blues will need to be careful and ensure he is not rushed back into action. He might come as a substitute to build his full fitness.

It’s going to be an exciting contest between the London rivals as Chelsea, who are presently on a two-game winning streak, takes on a strong team that narrowly defeated Manchester City. A win for us on the night will not just send out a statement to the rest of the league but also aid us in building momentum heading into the next set of games. Fabrizio Romano’s update via X could not have come at a better time.

James’ availability is a welcome relief because he excels at linking plays and is unquestionably a superior right-back option to any of our other options. He has been playing in the Premier League for such a long time that no one knows better than him how to neutralise major English top-flight sides.

Malo Gusto might start the game because Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t want to hurry James, especially in a crucial game, and because he has settled in well and doesn’t appear to be new to the league. Disasi, meanwhile is better placed to feature should he be deemed fit to start.

Given that we are playing against a top attacking team that can breach any defence, Disasi’s comeback will be an encouragement for our defence. The Frenchman, who has teamed up well with Colwill and Silva, intends to give everything.
