“Ready to play”- National team boss’s reassuring message to Chelsea boss Tuchel

United States boss assures Thomas Tuchel that he will take care of Christian Pulisic

According to Football.London, United States Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter has promised to return Christian Pulisic healthy and fit to Chelsea at the end of the international break.

The USMNT boss understands why Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is worried and has now gone on to reassure him. Pulisic may not have featured regularly this season, but remains a match-winner on his day.

The American could yet have a big role to play for the Blues this season. With a title charge on the cards, Tuchel will need all the trump cards he can get his hands on.

Berhalter admits that is imperative that Pulisic leaves the international camp fit and raring to play for Chelsea. The winger’s health appears to be on the priority list.

“I think the important thing is that Christian leaves camp healthy and ready to play for Chelsea. That will be the first and most relevant thing on our minds.”

As of yet, it appears to be unclear which role Pulisic will don for the North Americans this weekend. He does however look set to take to the field for the USMNT.

“Later, already in concentration, we will see at what moment he is, and we will see exactly what his role will be. For this reason, we have not determined what his role will be, but you can be sure that he will participate in these matches.”

Pulisic has made just four appearances for Chelsea all season and hasn’t started a game for us since mid-August. The 22-year-old winger came on for the final 16 minutes of the Champions League win over Malmo last week and then played the last ten minutes in the 1-1 draw against Burnley on Saturday.

The Chelsea boss was concerned about the American being away from Stamford Bridge for upcoming weeks despite not being completely match-fit. Thankfully his prayers appear to have been heard.
