Talented 20-year-old defender labels Chelsea as one of his dream moves

Leicester City ace Wesley Fofana reveals Chelsea as his dream destination

Speaking in a Twitter Space with Actufoot (h/t Football.London), Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has revealed that Chelsea are one of his dream clubs amidst links of a possible transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Leicester had bought Fofana from Saint-Etienne on a five-year contract, but the transfer fee was undisclosed. He looks to be a successful buy as he has impressed in his debut season in the Premier League. He has already made 38 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions.

The 20-year-old has earned 14 clean sheets in his first year at King Power Stadium and helped his club to win the FA Cup title. He was also crucial in the league as he helped Brendan Rodgers and his side finish fifth in the table.

“There is Marseille, Real Madrid, Barcelona. In the Premier League, Chelsea, Man United, Man City… but you have to work to achieve your dreams. Through work, you can succeed in it all.”

The Frenchman did not single out the Blues as his dream destination and mentioned rival clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City as other options. He added how he has to work even harder to achieve his dreams of a possible move to a big club.

Thomas Tuchel’s side was previously linked to the centre-back before he broke his leg in a pre-season friendly against Villarreal. That has not stopped the club since they have contacted him for a future transfer as a replacement for Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger will see his contract expire at the end of the 2021-22 season and is yet to agree to an extension. The Foxes ace has been shortlisted as an option if the German leaves the club in the summer.

Fofana’s words would be interesting to Marina Granovskaia as it could be hinting that he is open to assessing the options in front of him.
