Chelsea handed major injury boost as star attacker pictured in training ahead of Leicester clash

Latest injury news on Chelsea striker Timo Werner as Leicester City clash draws near

According to Daily Mail Online, Chelsea have been handed a major injury boost ahead of the match against Leicester City as Timo Werner was pictured going through the paces in training on Thursday.

Werner had picked up an injury against Malmo in the Champions League as the Blues won 4-0 in that game. He has missed the last five matches for his side and was involved in a session after recovering from his hamstring issue.

The 25-year-old has played ten matches this season and has scored two goals while assisting once in the process. After being out for a month, his return would be a boost to Thomas Tuchel as the forward options were thinned due to injury issues.

Romelu Lukaku also returned this week from injury after suffering an injury in the same game against Malmo. The return of the striker duo would take pressure from Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech, who had to cover in the meantime.

While Tuchel’s team have gone on an unbeaten run following the German’s injury, his return would give more options going forward. This is especially important as the English club will run into a tough run of fixtures this month and in December.

Mason Mount and Marcos Alonso were also seen in training after they had recovered from their issues. However, there was no sign of Mateo Kovacic, who endured a hamstring problem three weeks ago.

The table-toppers will face the Foxes as they look to put pressure on the chasing pack. With a three-point lead over Manchester City, we would need all three points to keep our form after the international break.

Games against Juventus, Manchester United and West Ham United are to follow in the coming weeks, and we would need to kickstart with a win to gain momentum for those clashes.
