Report: 28-year-old Chelsea star wants to leave the club for regular game time

Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech wants to leave the club amidst interest from Borussia Dortmund

According to Bild via The Sun (h/t Football.London), Chelsea ace Hakim Ziyech is eager to leave the club in search of regular game time amidst interest from Borussia Dortmund. He has not met the expectations upon which he was signed.

The Blues bought the Moroccan from Ajax Amsterdam for a fee of £33.6m, which could further increase thanks to add-on clauses. Having played a major role in the Dutch club’s success, there were high expectations put on him to replicate it at Stamford Bridge.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order in recent times after failing to take his chances. As a result, it is said that he is looking for a way out for more minutes on the pitch. Dortmund are keeping tabs on the situation and are interested in securing the 28-year-old’s services.

The 28-year-old would also be open to moving to Germany for restarting his career, which has stalled in England. The German club wants him in the January transfer window however, no information is made available on the type of deal that they would prefer.

Marina Granovskaia does not want to lose the Moroccan on a permanent transfer but would approve a loan deal in January. It seems the club is still hopeful that he would come good and will regain his form in the future.

The attacking midfielder has shown glimpses of his quality but needs to be more consistent to become a success at the West London club. He has scored just eight goals and assisted five times from 49 appearances for the Champions League winners.
