National team manager issues welcome injury update on Chelsea’s 22-year-old attacker

Injury News: Germany manager issues fresh update on Chelsea star Kai Havertz

According to Football.London, Germany manager Hansi Flick has given a fitness update on Chelsea Chelsea star Kai Havertz who missed several training sessions with his national team.

It is believed that Kai Havertz suffered pain in his thigh recently after joining the German squad. The Chelsea frontman missed several training sessions with his national side due to it.

Even though a suspension obliged him to stay on the sidelines for the Nationalelf’s fixture against Liechtenstein, he missed another training session on Friday.

The severity of the injury was a centre of speculation from the Blues fan as after the injury of Romelu Lukakau and Timo Werner, Havertz has taken the central role in the forward line for Thomas Tuchel’s team. In such a case, any injury to him can lend a massive blow in the West London team’s camp.

Germany is set to face Armenia on Sunday. The availability of the 22-year-old player was a centre of speculation. But the Die Mannschaft manager cleared all the doubts with a fresh update.

The former Bayern Munich manager said that Havertz took part in the national team training session yesterday for the first time. It seems he could feature in the game against Armenia.

“Marc [ter Stegen] will play from the beginning; we also assume that Kai can play. He trained with the team for the first time today; he is fit and will play from the start.”

The new update could be a sign of relief in the Chelsea camp. This season he bagged four goals and two assists in 16 games for the west London team, with the most recent goal coming against Burnley in the Premier League to obtain a draw.
