Tuchel gives worrying update over first-team Chelsea playmaker’s’tricky’ illness

Thomas Tuchel indicated Mason Mount could be ruled out of the England squad due to a ‘tricky’ illness

According to Football.London, Thomas Tuchel suggested that initially, what he thought a sudden illness had transformed into a ‘tricky one’ and could prevent Mason Mount from featuring for England in the international break.

Mason Mount was ready to start against Malmo on Tuesday. But after waking up, he felt a sudden illness and was left in London to recover appropriately. But now, it seems that the illness has a significant reaction to his health.

The German manager suggested the type of illness, which seems to be an infected tooth. He also hinted at the extent of the illness in the press conference

“It’s a tricky one. He was ill, but the reason is his wisdom tooth. This is the reason for the illness and for the feeling like an illness; there’s a bit of an infection.”

The former Paris Saint-German manager hinted that he has already returned to the training ground, but the manager isn’t entirely convinced about his fitness. He thinks proper treatment needs to be done to get the exact idea.

“He was back in training yesterday and today but has lost a bit of weight because he cannot eat properly.”

As for the England call-up, the manager has indicated that he could be out or feature later in the fixture after thorough medical treatment.

“If everything is ok, but what I know right now is we need a proper treatment of the wisdom teeth, so it can be that he is out or joins a bit later.”

Mason Mount was included in England squad after his row of unbelievable performances at Chelsea. He scored a hat-trick against Norwich City this season. Meanwhile, he has three goals and two assists in the Premier League this season.

So it’s for both parties’ greater interest that Mason becomes fit as soon as possible. This season we are looking to compete for the title, and we’d require a player of his quality to give us an edge in important games.
