First-team Chelsea star on German giant’s radar if they lose 26-year-old ace

Transfer News: Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger ‘considered’ by Bayern Munich

According to BayernInsider (h/t Football.london), Bayern Munich are considering a move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger whose current contract will end next summer.

Antonio Rudiger’s future has been a focus of massive speculation in recent times. Despite serving the final year of his contract term at Stamford Bridge, he is yet to pen down a new contract.

The German player would be eligible to talk with foreign teams from January. And Bayern Munich are considering approaching him

Last summer, the German team lost their star defender, David Alaba, to Real Madrid. And it now seems the 26-year-old Niklas Sule’s future is also uncertain. If he chooses to move away from the Allianz Arena, it would be challenging for the Bundesliga Champions and hence, they are considering the Chelsea centre back.

The 28-year-old player would be a free agent at the end of this season if he doesn’t pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge, and the Bavarian giants are looking to lure the player for free in the following summer window.

Blues’ director Marina Granovskaia has a massive challenge ahead regarding the contract situation with two of their main centre backs. It seems Andreas Christensen’s renewal deal also remains in the air due to the last-minute demand from his agent to reduce contract years.

Thomas Tuchel’s team currently holds the top position at the Premier League table, which has been possible because of the consistent performance of the defensive duo. The West London team would face a huge blow if they end up losing both their in-form players, that too for free.
