Chelsea all set to fight with Liverpool, Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid for Aurelien Tchouameni

According to Tuttosport (h/t Liverpool Echo), European Champions Chelsea are all set to face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool for the signature of talented Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The 21-year-old, who will cost £38million from Monaco, has impressed a number of clubs with his rapid growth following his Nations League win with France earlier in October.

The Monaco midfielder has just under three years remaining on his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit has already featured in 17 games in all competitions and has scored twice.

The Blues do have Saul Niguez but the Spaniard is on loan. Conor Gallagher is surely a prospect for the future but Tchouameni would be an equally exciting prospect to have in midfield, further future-proofing that area in the team.

But it won’t be an easy signing to make as the likes of Liverpool, Juventus, and Real Madrid are also keen on the midfielder. With the range of suitors in mind, there could be a bidding war that will suit the Ligue 1 side.

The West London club are currently top of the Premier League table, three points ahead of Liverpool after 10 games. Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas who currently plays alongside Tchouameni for Monaco was all praise for the midfielder earlier this year.

Fabregas, when asked if Tchouameni would be a good signing for Chelsea in a Twitter Q&A in mid-June, said:

“He has the potential to be the complete midfielder. Modern midfield player, but we need him still… sorry.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are also set to be lining him up as a possible replacement for his French teammate Paul Pogba who is yet to sign a new contract with the club.
