Bayern Munich refuse to admit defeat to Chelsea in Niklas Sule tug of war

Bayern Munich offer Chelsea target Niklas Sule a fresh new deal

According to Bild (h/t Footy Xtras), Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich remains hopeful of keeping Nicklas Sule at the club and have offered him a fresh contract to keep him away from the clutches of English giants Chelsea.

The 26-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer and he will be free to talk to clubs as soon as the winter transfer window opens in January. The German defender previously delayed the contract talks until the end of the year.

The Blues are in the market for a defender as there are question marks over the future of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva. All of them are in the last year of their contract at Stamford Bridge and are yet to commit their future to the club.

The quarter can sign a pre-agreement contract with foreign clubs from January and have a number of suitors waiting in the wings. Real Madrid have been linked with Rudiger and Christensen in the past and want to steal them away from the Premier League leaders.

However, Chelsea themselves have offered them new deals but it is yet to be seen whether they will commit their futures to the club. having to replace four senior stars in one window is a tough ask, even for the Blues.

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League table but saw their lead on the top cut to just one point following a 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday. They have been resolute in the defence this season and would really want to keep hold of their star defenders come what may.

Rudiger has been a revelation

The German defender has been in beast mode since Thomas Tuchel joined last year. He has been a brick wall at the back and has got an odd goal or so. He has been their main man at the back – and has not given an inch to the opponents’ attackers.

The 28-year-old along with Christensen have produced the best football of their careers under Tuchel. The duo have been flawless and Chelsea are really desperate to keep hold of them.

Chelsea have a more than a decent chance to go all out for the Premier League title this season – and these two will be the most vital cog for their success. Most of all Rudiger has just adapted Tuchel’s philosophy brilliantly on the pitch and has become irreplaceable in the starting line-up.
