Report: Former Chelsea superstar now in La Liga could be receptive to sensational Stamford Bridge return

Eden Hazard could be open to returning to Chelsea in the summer transfer window

According to The Express, Real Madrid star, Eden Hazard could be receptive regarding a return to Chelsea in the summer of 2022.

The Belgian international was one of the best players in the Premier League during his earlier stint at Stamford Bridge. He eventually moved to Real Madrid in a mammoth deal worth £150million in 2019.

His time at the Santiago Bernabeu has been very underwhelming. He notched up just five goals in two years in the Spanish capital. Loss of fitness and form has seen him struggle to a large extent.

Hazard at 30 still has time on his side to leave an indelible mark on the sport. While he did get his dream move to Madrid, it has been nothing short of a nightmare.

It was at Chelsea that he truly shone as one of the best in the world. A return to those roots could see him rekindle that role. Hazard had earlier claimed that leaving Chelsea was a difficult decision. If that is truly the case,m returning should prove to be an easy call.

A potential return will see Hazard arrive at a club that is different to the one he left behind two years ago. The Blues are today filled with players who are young and raring to go.

As a veteran, the Belgian can add much but is not necessarily granted an automatic starting spot. Fans will certainly love the homecoming but it remains to be seen if he will go on to also deliver on the pitch.

Hopefully, the Blues will avoid the same pitfall and make an informed decision.
