Injury News: Blues ace takes to social media to post an update on his condition

Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku takes to social media to provide an injury update

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has posted an injury update on his Twitter account.

The big Belgian is recovering from an ankle injury sustained against Malmo in the UEFA Champions League. He is expected to miss the next few games for his side.

The £98million record signing was subbed off before halftime after he was brought down by a challenge from Lasse Nielsen. Although his efforts won a penalty, the Blues came off worse losing their ace striker in the process.

The 28-year-old has now posted a picture of himself receiving treatment on his injured leg on Monday. His calm demeanour could prove to be a welcome sign for fans keen to see him return to action.

Earlier, Thomas Tuchel had confirmed that the Belgian would be missing the next two matches but that could prove to be a best-case estimate. Tuchel went on to add that Lukaku’s recovery is going smoothly without hiccups and there is a positive vibe surrounding the situation.

The German also said that things may change depending on the circumstances and the centre-forward is out indefinitely for that very reason. The English club is also without Timo Werner who too suffered an injury against Malmo.

It is stated that in a worst-case scenario, the Belgium international could be out for four weeks and could miss quite a few games. Hopefully, he will come back strong and lead us to glory.

Chelsea have shown that they can win games without their ace as they beat Norwich City by 7-0 at the weekend. However, the West London club would be hoping to get Lukaku back as soon as possible as he needs to be match sharp to help them with the title race.

After all, Norwich is not the yardstick for quality in the Premier League by any stretch of the imagination.
