Chelsea join EPL rivals in collective effort to bring South American stars back home for weekend clash

Chelsea to join up with Man City, Man United and Liverpool to bring back their South American stars

According to The Daily Mail, Premier League giants Chelsea have teamed up with their domestic rivals Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City to bring back their South American stars.

English clubs had to let their South American aces report for international duty over the course of the last two weeks. This has thrown their availability for the upcoming set of figures into doubt.

The British government had previously imposed quarantine restrictions retarding those travelling from red-listed countries to the United Kingdom. Such individuals would have to quarantine at a Government approved hotel for ten days.

An exemption was made for fully vaccinated footballers. They were allowed to quarantine in a club-approved facility for 10 days instead, leaving only to train or play.

The clubs however cannot afford to lose their best players for key games. They have all now clubbed together for an aircraft costing six figures to carry the stars home to England.

According to the report, nine top-flight representatives from Brazil and Uruguay will take off immediately after their World Cup qualifier in Manaus. Chelsea’s Thiago Silva is among them. Arranging two flights, splitting the group up based on where their respective clubs will be playing has also been discussed.

Either way, Silva will need to quarantine after returning to England. All Brazilian internationals will have to do the same following their match against Colombia. This in particular will affect Liverpool who will miss Alisson Becker and Fabinho. Hopefully, that will give us an edge in the title race.
