“Lampard mentality”- Some Chelsea fans react as Mason Mount hat-trick in 7-0 win keeps Blues at PL summit

Chelsea fans react as Mason Mount scores hat-trick in 7-0 win against Norwich City

Mason Mount was the star of the show on Saturday afternoon as a well-taken hat-trick inspired a 7-0 win for the Blues against Norwich City.

On paper, 1st vs 20th was never going to be a very tough affair for the current UEFA Champions League holders. But then again, the Premier League has shown us time and again that just about anything can happen on the field.

The Blues went into the game without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in their starting XI due to injury issues. Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi filled in for them, just as they did earlier this week against Malmo.

And the Blues ran into no trouble at all throughout the course of the game. Mount scored the opener in the 8th minute before Hudson-Odoi and Reece James made it 3-0 before half-time.

Chelsea in 7th heaven

Ben Chilwell and an own goal from Max Aarons around the hour mark meant that the Blues were up 5-0 before Mount scored two late goals to wrap up a scintillating hat-trick. It was a wonderful team performance capped off with a well-deserved clean sheet for the defenders.

The result keeps the Blues at the top of the Premier League table and they will stay there regardless of the results in the Manchester City and Liverpool games this weekend.

Blues fans were on hand to congratulate Mount on Twitter and made their feelings clear as the club recorded their biggest win under Thomas Tuchel since he took charge back in January this year. Here are some of the best reactions as found on the social media website:
