Antonio Rudiger is in no hurry to make a decision over his Chelsea future amidst contract speculation
According to Sky Sports News (h/t The Sun), Antonio Rudiger is ready to listen to offers in January before making a decision over a new Chelsea contract.
The German international has had a widely uncertain future at Stamford Bridge since the start of this season. With less than 12 months on his current deal at Chelsea, there is no guarantee whether he would like to stay or leave the club.
The Blues have till the end of the year to agree to a new contract before the 28-year-old becomes eligible to talk to foreign clubs in the winter transfer window.
It would then be down to the centre-back whether he would like to secure a cut-price move in January or leave the London outfit as a free agent next summer.
These problems are said to have originated due to the massive salary demands of the former A.S Roman defender. The German is apparently demanding wages in the region of £400,000-per-week to stay at the club.
To put it into context, the London outfit’s highest earner currently is Romelu Lukaku at £350,000-per-week. To pay Rudiger more than the club’s most expensive signing ever would be a huge statement.

Regardless, the centre-back does not want to make any hasty decisions over his new contract now and is open to listening to offers in January. Real Madrid and Tottenham are said to be willing to sign the defender, but there is no certainty about the player’s preferred destination.
A hugely important figure in the club’s Champions League triumph last season and their launch for a Premier League title bid this season, Thomas Tuchel would be hoping that his fellow countryman stays at Stamford Bridge beyond this season.
