Transfer News: Chelsea keeping tabs on Stoke City wonderkid Emre Tezgel

According to The Daily Mail (h/t The Express), Chelsea are keeping tabs on promising 16-year-old Stoke City starlet Emre Tezgel.

The teenager is proving himself to be a prolific player in the Under-18 level and has seen himself compared to English skipper Harry Kane. Having scored seven goals in just four appearances, it is easy to see why the teenager is held in high regard.

A regular for the Potters’ Under-18 side, Tezgel was selected for their Under-23 team earlier in the summer. One of the club’s brightest young talents, he could go on to become a star in the game.

Chelsea are interested in Emre Tezgel.

The 16-year-old is coming off a series of performances that saw him play a starring role for the England Under-17 side in September. Tezgel was rewarded for his efforts when he won the Player of the Tournament at the Syrenka Cup in Poland.

The last Englishman to win the award was Jude Bellingham in 2019. The Borussia Dortmund star has since gone on to become one of the best young players in Europe at the senior level. Hopefully, Tezgel too will do the same.

The youngster scored four goals over the course of the tournament. This saw Enalgnad make it to the final where they lost to Netherlands 3-2.

The Blues have one of the best academies in England and have brought in top-notch youngsters to the club in recent times. Adding Tezgel is a no brainer given the 16-year-old’s potential.

Whether his future will lie at Stamford Bridge or elsewhere remains to be seen. If he turns out to be anything close to the player Kane is, the Blues will have hit the jackpot.
