“Huge difference”- Wilfried Zaha tips 21-year-old Chelsea loanee to become a ‘top player’

Wilfried Zaha believes Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher can make it to the top

Speaking to talkSPORT (h/t The Metro), Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha has heaped a lot of praise on Chelsea loanee, Conor Gallagher, and believes he can become a ‘top player’.

Gallagher joined Crystal Palace on loan this summer and is already providing rich dividends as he has managed to score 2 goals and provide an assist in just 5 games for the Eagles this season.

The youngster proved his quality against West Ham United last month when he scored 2 goals in a 2-2 thriller against the Hammers. Since then, Patrick Vieira has put his faith in the midfielder, while the 21-year-old has also gained a lot of praise from his colleagues.

Wilfried Zaha recently talked about the Englishman’s talent and backed him to become a ‘top player’. Zaha told talkSPORT (h/t The Metro):

He’s (Gallagher) a very good player, to be honest, the thing he brings is that energy that we need, I’m sure everyone has seen it…Obviously, it’s been a couple of games, but everyone can see Conor’s potential because he’s young, so he’s only going to get better.

‘Having him in the team has improved the team massively because the energy makes a huge difference, he will be a top player, not everyone can go from box-to-box the whole game, so yeah, it makes a huge difference.’

The Chelsea starlet was on loan to West Bromwich Albion last season and had become a consistent figure for the Baggies, although he could not help the club avoid relegation.

The youngster has, however, caught the eye of the people at Stamford Bridge with his performances at Palace.

In fact, the Blues are also said to be ready to hand the starlet a first-team role next season if he manages to keep up his good form at Selhurst Park this season, which would certainly be a dream come true for Gallagher.
