Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni to cost £34m; Juventus also interested
According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t Express), Chelsea could have to spend a good £34m for Aurelien Tchouameni. That is the amount AS Monaco might be prepared to accept should they have to let go of their prized asset. It must also be noted that Juventus are after the 21-year-old Frenchman.
Chelsea decided to add another midfielder to their side over the summer. Eventually, they came around the name of Saul Niguez. A last-minute loan deal was agreed on deadline day as Saul went on to make his debut earlier this month. However, he has looked off the pace in the few games he has gotten.
Should he not be signed on a permanent deal, the Blues could look towards other options such as Aurelien Tchouameni. The French starlet is one of the best emerging talents in France and is already a part of the Monaco setup. However, any possible move for Tchouameni will not be easy and maybe not that cheap.
It would seem that the midfielder is valued at around £34m for which Monaco can let him go. Another factor is that Juventus are also in the race to sign him and could return for him after missing out last month. Another side, Manchester United are admirers of the youngster and it could get interesting as to who ends up prising him away.

Chelsea have good midfield options currently but Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are approaching or over 30 years of age. That should point to the fact that they need to look at names for the long-term and Tchouameni does fit the bill in all ways. But with so much competition for his signature, Chelsea might have to act a little fast here.
