According to a tweet put out by @TweetChelseaUK via Express (h/t football.london), Chelsea have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich superstar Leroy Sane.
The Blues, who currently possess the likes of Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Mason Mount in their ranks, could be looking to add another forward to this list.
However, the Stamford Bridge outfit are not eyeing a straight cash deal for the former Manchester City man. The London club will try to orchestrate a swap deal for the German as the Blues ‘could’ use any one of Pulisic, Ziyech, and Hudson-Odoi to complete a move for Sane.
The German has not been at his best since his move to Bayern Munich last year. Last season, the winger made 32 Bundesliga appearances but managed only 6 goals and a further 10 assists.
This is pretty low when compared to his performances in Man City’s title-winning campaigns in 2018 and 2019. The German provided 33 goal contributions in the 2017/18 season while he took it a level further in the 2018/19 season as he scored 16 goals and provided 18 assists across all competitions.
Thus, if the Blues can get a deal over the line for the 25-year-old, it would be a clever coup for them, especially since Sane relatively young and has his best years in front of him.
However, this would see one of Ziyech or Pulisic or Hudson-Odoi go the other way, with the latter being close to a loan move to Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.

While there is no certainty on when this deal could take place, the Blues will certainly be adding a marquee player to their squad if Sane agrees to join the Stamford Bridge outfit.
