Jules Kounde furious with Sevilla for blocking Chelsea move
According to reports in Spain (h/t Express), Jules Kounde is furious with Sevilla for blocking his move to Chelsea. The defender is now ignoring calls from manager Julen Lopetegui and Sevilla chief Monchi due to the whole situation.
The whole saga of Chelsea trying to sign Jules Kounde was an interesting one to watch in the recently closed summer transfer window. The Blues wanted to refresh their defensive options for the season which means they sold Kurt Zouma and wanted to bring in Kounde. However, it proved to be far more difficult than expected.
The initial agreement was that Chelsea would pay £47million for Kounde. However, during the last week, Sevilla chief Monchi went on to claim that Chelsea would have to pay the full release clause of £68million. Chelsea baulked at that price and walked away from negotiations.
Now, Kounde is less than pleased that this transfer fell through right at the end. He was hoping that Sevilla would sanction a sale that he was waiting for through most of the summer. The defender is now said to be ignoring calls from manager Julen Lopetegui and Monchi as well due to being angry at the whole situation.

It is unclear whether Chelsea will revisit their interest in the defender in January or next season. But from the way the Blues were after him, one could say that there is a good chance of them coming back for him. Sevilla’s resolve will be tested now as the defender is not happy about the situation but cannot do much until the January transfer window at least.
